Description

Sea kayaking with children has its drawbacks. Distances between campsites can be quite long, and wind and waves can be tough on children (even as passengers). So it's a safer bet to go for an adventure on sheltered waters. Hence this Gussitur.

Head towards Sandarne, turn off towards Östanbo and follow the signs to Gussistugan. There you have good parking facilities and can unpack your canoe and other luggage in peace and quiet.

Now you have a little "wilderness adventure" ahead of you. Storgussisjön is connected to both Lillgussisjön and Lill-Ålsjön (not to be confused with the Ålsjön nature reserve). The latter is connected by a small canal that winds under a bridge and along hiking trails. Here, in the small format, there are headlands, small islets and exciting bays. The canal under the bridge is particularly exciting! What might turn up over there?

You'll find tent sites everywhere and here and there are ready-made fireplaces. If you buy a fishing license, you have also fixed dinner.

This tour, which can be a day trip or a two-day trip with an overnight stay, is suitable for families who want to give their children a safe wilderness experience; paddling, hiking, pitching tents, fishing, grilling sausages. They can play hide-and-seek among the large boulders, climb trees, swim and it is possible for the children themselves to make their first paddling trip on their own (under the watchful eyes of parents of course). But it's close to land and warm in the water. A summer night in the woods by a lake is something we all treat our children to! And this time, it's completely free, which we thank the right of public access for.

You can use Canadians here, but kayaks also work well.
