Västtjärnslindorna

The 1663 list of mountain farms mentions Västtjärnslindan, but then under the name Edstjärna.

At the time of the 1811-1817 census, the farm had 30 co-owners. 15 of these were from Västtjärna. Six co-owners came from Östtjärna and five from Nysäl. The others came from Lindan, Gruvan and Österfors.

In the summer of 1933, it was the most densely populated pasture in the parish. 27 households brought 115 cows and 16 heifers here.

In 1968, the pasture ceased to be used. Sisters Karin and Anna Daniels and Anna Sundin were Västtjärnslindan's last herdsmen. Last summer they had seven cows. The Daniels sisters were herdsmen from the age of ten.

In a cultural-historical environmental analysis, Västtjärnslindan has been classified as an area of cultural-historical and environmental value.

The pasture is one of Gagnef's most visited and is a living pasture with animals.
