Siljansnäset runt

A route that includes villages and asphalt roads but perhaps above all the wilderness feeling of the long stretch of gravel road along the "coast" towards Siljan. Here you can find your very own place to sit for a while and rest your eyes over Siljan and maybe take a dip.

It is really flat cycling all the way except when you go up Björkberget. Once you leave the villages, it is usually sparse between the cars, which contributes to the feeling of being out in nature. Enjoy the silence and breathe in the scents of the forest.

A destination along the way can be Vaveröns nature reserve. There are cabins for rent (contact Leksand municipality, 0247-80000) and both a hut and a fireplace hut that are always open. Another obvious place to visit is the Naturum at the top of Björkberget. The extra meters of altitude are worth their price when you can look out over the view from the mountain and the observation tower.
