Description

At the beginning of the last century, Hotel Persborg was built on the shores of Lake Siljan in Sjurberg village.

Adjacent to the hotel, a steamboat pier was also built with an adjoining building containing a waiting hall for boat passengers and two changing rooms for bathers.

Sometime between 1925 and 1927, the original jetty disappeared due to high water and was replaced in 1928 by a somewhat simpler building, which was demolished in the winter of 2002.

Sjurbergs Byalag has worked for 8 years to rebuild the building and the jetty that existed before 1928. The work has been carried out on a voluntary basis and at the pace that fundraising allowed. Inauguration took place 2009-06-27.

Funding has been provided partly through contributions from various funds and partly through the "sale" of planks on the bridge deck. A number of companies have also sponsored materials.

The jetty and the building can be rented for various events, both by associations and individuals. Birthday and wedding parties, exhibitions, music and corporate events are some examples. The building is not insulated, which is why it is only rented out from May to September.

Many people have bought planks as gifts in connection with birthdays, weddings and the like
