Mining area at Nyberget.
The Nyberg field began to be mined in the 1600s and operations continued until 1965. From Nyberget, a narrow-gauge railway ran via Kärrgruvan to Morgårdshammar where reloading to standard-gauge railway took place and from where the ore was transported to mainly Avesta Järnverk.
In the area there are several open pits, mine holes with scrap stone, grounds where the forest has reclaimed the land.
