Description

Grandfars ort, or Erkers-fars ort as it is also called, is a mining village that goes about 80 meters straight into the mountain in the mining area Bensåsgruvorna. With good shoes and a flashlight, it is possible to get into the village. If you're lucky, you might even see bats! In the mountain above the village there are many mine holes from the Bensås mines, which were mined in the 1930s.

The village is right next to the small pond Kamhavet, where there is a picnic area with a shelter and two barbecue areas. As beavers dam up the pond, it can get very wet in the area. Remember to wear good shoes!

There is no road here, but there are marked paths from Bensåsen, Konnsjön or Krokbäcken. The hiking trails Bensåsleden (about 20 km) and Konnsjöleden (about 4 km) pass through the village.

After Konnsjöleden, between Kamhavet and Lilla Konnsjön, there is an easier troll trail for children, with stone trolls and signs with troll knowledge.
