Description
A newly built wood-fired sauna on the banks of the Dalälven River in Båstad-Mellsta nature reserve in Kvarnsveden. The sauna is located next to the Mellsta steamboat pier, below Mellsta camping.
There is an ice guard at the steamboat dock in winter, but you may need to make an effort to remove new ice, ice saw is available in the dressing room.
The sauna is booked via the municipality's website.

From the parking lot down to the sauna it is a walk of about 200 meters. The way down to the sauna is along a steep gravel road. Alternatively, the parking lot at Badplats Båtstadsjön can be used, from there there is a flat 800m long walkway along the river.
There is no lighting on the way down to the sauna or at the bath so remember to bring a headlamp when it is dark.
During the winter, the road can be slippery and then the sauna may be closed for booking.
Communications
Take Bus 151 from Borlänge center to Mellsta stop. From there it is a 10min walk to the sauna, follow the signs to Mellsta camping.
