Insjörundan

This is a suggestion for a cycling tour to experience the cultural landscape and villages around Insjön. There are no markings to follow. A cycle route from Leksands Noret goes on a cycle path past Norsbro and Limsjön to Tibble. Approximately from the village cottage in Tibble you ride a gravel road all the way to Romma, through Tibble's old and dense village cluster, through open countryside and past Ullvi school - all along the Österdal River. In spring you can see and hear lapwings and curlews in the open cultural landscape. Further through Berg and Rönnäs there is an asphalt road but the traffic is moderate.

In the far southeast, you round Lake Insjön and come through the coniferous forest to Hundhagen's deciduous forest nature reserve. Further up north through the villages of Insjön, Hälgnäs, Brenäs and Sätra. From Sätra it is back on the gravel bike path, through fields and pastures towards Nedre Heden and Holen. Now you see Åhl's church before turning west through more central parts of Insjön. Then you head north across the fields and along the cycle path, right next to highway 70. Beautiful views and villages to both east and west. In Häradsbygden, the bike path turns off from highway 70 and now you follow the old road towards Leksand again.
