Description

The Intrånget Mine Lava is a 25-meter-high wooden lava that offers visitors a wonderful view of the area. No booking is required to visit the cave. Instructions for picking up the key are at the door of the cave (at the back of the cave).

Built in 1912, the lava pit is located over a shack that is a total of 460 meters deep. Today, this is the only remaining mine building in an area where mining has been documented since the 14th century, then called Vikaberg. However, several miners' dwellings remain, as well as Disponentvillan. There is also a large slagstone area around the lichen and several fenced-off mine holes nearby.

The mine was declared a listed building by the County Administrative Board in the fall of 2024. The owner is Hedemora municipality.
