Gästhemmet Västanvik

Gästhemmet Västanvik, at the high school, offers accommodation for groups and individuals. In the scenic area there are several hiking trails such as Siljansleden and the St Olav Rombo Way pilgrimage trail is only 4 km away.

From the train station in Leksand there is a good footpath to the guesthouse and the walk takes about 1 hour, by bike only 15 minutes. You can also take a bus to the guesthouse. Pick-up for hikers is possible at a cost of 300 SEK/trip and must be booked in advance.

The hostel offers double and single rooms with the possibility of adding an extra bed. There are also two cottages with space for 6 people in each cottage, divided into bunk beds and a sofa bed. All rooms have a toilet and shower. Pillows and duvets are provided in the rooms, as well as sheets and towels. Guests make their own beds before their stay. Cleaning is included. Upon departure, the guest places sheets and towels on the floor to be taken care of by the cleaning staff.

The hostel has cooking facilities with fully equipped kitchens in common areas. The restaurant on the premises is primarily open during the day on weekdays, there is the possibility to buy a lunch box that can be heated until the evening. Breakfast is available for purchase on selected days and can be booked via our booking page or by contacting the booking. During the summer period, after midsummer, the restaurant is open more, contact the guesthouse for current times.

In case of urgent matters, you can reach the hostel by phone at +46 (0)76-495 00 18. Note that no one handles the phone on weekends and nights (only if the hostel have arriving or staying guests).

There is no staffed reception, there is self-check-in by collecting the key from the key cabinet, and self-check-out by leaving the key in the key box upon departure.

Three days before arrival, information about the stay will be sent out with contact details and other information.
