Description
Experience Blekinge's coast as the birds see it...
The place Torhamn was called Torrum until 1898. Place names ending in "rum" are considered ancient. Torhamn's headland is Sweden's most south-eastern headland. The headland has been an attractive burial site during both the Bronze and Iron Ages. However, it is not only people who have traveled past Torhamn's headland. Many bird species pass by here. In Torhamn's headland there is a well-known migratory bird venue, with a bird station where birds are ringed. Today, the area is both a nature reserve and a military training area.
The film is commented in Swedish, but there is also the option to add English subtitles in the menu.

This film is part of a series of drone films that the organisation Blekinge Archipelago produced to increase knowledge about the connection between the natural and cultural environments in the Biosphere Reserve. Through these films, it is possible to experience a number of known and unknown areas along Blekinge's coast - in the way that perhaps a sea eagle sees the coast. In the films, we mix information and images concerning both culture and nature.
These films can be used in several different ways, for example to be inspired to further journeys within the Biosphere area at home in the warmth of the cabin. But also during a hike or kayaking, you can get a wider overview of the area you are in directly via the ARK56 app.
