Fiske Hagbyån

The Hagbyån river is home to a variety of fish species. Carp such as ide, roach and bream migrate up to spawn in the spring. In the 1980s and 1990s, many large bream were caught and have made Hagbyån famous for its fine bream fishing. On the lower stretch closest to the coast, pike and perch spawn and in the fall, sea trout migrate up and spawn at Loverslund and Igelösa mill.

In total, the stretch included in the Nedre Hagbyån fisheries management area is about 4 km, the lower part of the river is about 10 m wide and 2 m deep. At Loverslund there are flowing and rushing stretches and downstream of Igelösa mill there are significant current areas that suit the trout. In late summer 2015, a diversion was built at Igelösa mill, which means that the fish have a free migration path up to Väntorp.
